Red Cedar, Spruce and Ash construction with a ballistic nylon skin coated with two part polyurethane. This kayak was my third build and second skin-on-frame. I built it in 2005 from a 2004 drawing by Harvey Golden. Tolerances were kept to 1/16" through the build. The only modifications to the structure are a flip-up foot brace and the cockpit lengthened slightly to fit a standard ocean size spray skirt. It is a snug fit for me at 6 ft and 175 lbs but the foot rest could be adapted for bigger paddlers. A freshly refinished spruce greenland-style paddle is included. The bow and stern have small pulleys and light cords to aid in the installation of float bags. This kayak is reasonably stable for it's width due to it's unique double chine hull, rolls great and cruises very easily at 3-3.5 mph due the low wetted surface area. Tracking is strong due to the integrated skeg. The finish is still in good condition. The hull shows some cosmetic blemishes from college adventures around Lake Michigan. This was my dream Greenland boat and I hate to part with it, but overseas work and small children means it no longer gets paddled.
