Ben:  Where/when did this latest Masik appear?  I'm assuming it's online, not hard copy.  Thanks, Denis (Denis Sivack)

Excellent issue!  I was the editor for many years of the monthly 20 page newsletter for my local wilderness sports club, so I appreciate how much work goes into what you do.

I was especially delighted to see that timely excerpt on re-skinning.  My West Greenland SOF desperately needs a new birthday suit and the instructions and photos make the process extremely clear in vivid detail.  I feel much more comfortable tackling this for the first time.  I hope to get it ship-shape by Delmarva.

Ben — thanks for the kind note, which is more meaningful to me than you probably imagine. Also, you're so right about the footer. One of the blessings of electronic publishing: it can be corrected. Amazing how many times you proof read, and still this type of thing slips past.

Finally, I noticed your piece about that interesting navigational gizmo in Small Boats. You should put on your thinking cap about writing something for the Masik. I'm fairly certain that anything that seems right to you would seem right to me in terms of subject matter. If it's easier to talk about it, I'm at 651 757 7479.

Again, thanks for taking the time to look at the Masik. Tony

Tony,

Great issue. Lots of good stuff. I've sent a link to friends who are
even now getting on a plane for Greenland, for their aircraft reading.

One small quibble, the footer is reading the old issue 2023-24; I think
it is right on the the first couple of pages.

I'm off to see Vernon Sunday next. I'll nudge the folks who need to give
us info on moving Greg's frame.

Best

Ben

Plenty of great stuff inside the hot-off-he-presses issue, available here: https://qajaqusa.org/docs.ashx?id=1368671.

Olav Storli Turtum dissects traditional paddling's intersection with Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl, plus his close encounter with a beluga harnessed for (most likely) Russian espionage.

Dubside explains how to get yourself to Greenland, and offers an interview with Greenland's official representative to the US.

Wondering if you're a practitioner of "Serious Leisture?" Rick Wiebush defines the concept.

And there's plenty more. Got a talisman in your qajaq? Find out why you need one. Set up with clothing for cold-water paddling? Dan Segal has some ideas. Plus Fred Randall weighs in with chapter seven of his ecxcellent guide to building a replica qajaq. And really folks, that's not all.
